Classes offer new moms and babies 6 weeks to 8 months (pre-crawling) the opportunity to bond, and for moms to restore the body after birth. This is the perfect class for moms who want to exercise soon after childbirth but realize that they should do so with care. Postures are done in conjunction with the babies or with babies near mom. The time to resume or start an exercise routine after birth varies, so it is important to listen to your body and know what is right for you.
Holding and touching are the most common ways we interact with babies. Babies are exquisitely sensitive to our intent so it becomes an important opportunity to convey love, welcoming, nurturing, compassion and helpfulness. Infant massage can help you and your baby get to know each other and bond in a nurturing way. Benefits for babies are improved weight gain, better sleep and wake, easier to soothe and can reduce gas and constipation. Infant massage is great for all babies (premature or full term), single parents, and multi-children families. Anyone can do infant massage - you just need the right tools!
